As many of you know, right now I am vacationing in America! I have been here already since mid June and I have about another week and a half to enjoy the mother land! I did want to take the time to give some photo evidence of what I did prior to my arrival and since, because these were action packed times
I am home because my cousin Tricia is getting married on July 2nd. I felt that I should ignore her registry and get her something from Morocco. I hope that was the right decision because well… the gift has been given. My friend Olivia and I traveled to Tamgroute to look at their famous pottery,
This is the type of oven that is used to fire the pottery. Tamgroute is actually known for the green style that you see in that large vase in from of the oven. This kind of dome shaped dirt oven is what a lot of PCVs had during their stay with host families in Zagora.

Olivia and I got to watch the process of making the pottery a little. A man literally sat in a hole in the floor of a mud house and made the pottery on a manual sort of spinning thing. I guess my pottery lingo is pretty awful. SBDers! Help me out here! ![]()

These are the gorgeous plates, bowls and platters waiting to be painted.
This is a quick photo of the inside of the store. The pottery is so beautiful. I brought two plates, and unfortunately only one made it into country in one piece.
This is the platter my cousin got at her wedding shower. I’m happy that it’s the traditional style from Tamgroute. I hope that her and Glenn like it!
