This is a photo of some of the women in my host family working in the palmerie. The palmerie is where people in the rurual parts of Zagora Province grow their own food, food for animals and socialize. These women cleared an entire field in just a few hours! It was impressive!
This is a part of the field where they grow henna (i think),
One of my Peace Corps friends, Molly, visited for the weekend. This is her with my seven year old host sister Khadija. Khadija just had to pick us flowers at every opportunity and we wore them in our hair. My head was pretty itchy after this endevour….. Moroccan palmerie lice? haha.
Molly and I asking Khadija why she was taking a photo of us!! Funny right?
Khadija and I showing off the mountains!!!!
Rachida chillin in the palmerie!
My family, Molly and I heading out into the fields.
This is Molly in the souk at the Christmas Village on Monday. Its actually mentioned in Lonely Planet. FAMOUS!!!!!!
Other than these photos I have recently been given a key to my Dar Chebab!!!!! WhoooHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Now I can actually have a consistant schedule and Inshallah… and active Dar Chebab.
I have also been informed that a site change is still being considered for me, just because of the amount of time it has taken for things to get going. I understand it but Im ready to dig my heels in somewhere and just be settled. I will submit a list of potential work to Peace Corps and let them know my concerns about staying and about leaving and they will help me to make a decision in the next two weeks. Its crazy but Im glad for the support Peace Corps is giving me.
Im posting this video to help prepare my family and friends for my return to America this summer! Im so excited!!!!!!

Love the video – I am ready to hear all these stories! Congrats on getting a key to your Dar Chebab and some progress in that direction. The photos and all the flowers look amazing, and you look happy
xoxoxo Therese

I want to call as well….believe me…. At this point Im doubting my ability to get internet in site. Ill probably try to call the weekend of the 24th. I will be in Rabat.
Rachel! I just got your postcard, oddly enough on my birthday! It was very cool. I apologize for my lack of comments, things have been ridiculous around here. I have not gotten to play this year, but there is always hope. I have seen all of your posts and I cannot help but smile when I think of all of the adventures that you are having. I am also quick to tell my friends about your blog, I am trying to figure out how to let them subscribe as well. I am really excited to see you this Summer, and I hope things continue to be interesting (though in the more positive sense of the word) and productive. I will comment more frequently in the future.
Hey Miles! You have an actual birthday gift coming your way soon. Keep an eye out!
